Tuesday Tune: I’m already there

I’m Already There

He called her on the road
From a lonely cold hotel room
Just to hear her say I love you one more time
But when he heard the sound
Of the kids laughing in the background
He had to wipe away a tear from his eye
A little voice came on the phone
Said “Daddy when you coming home”
He said the first thing that came to his mind

I’m already there
Take a look around
I’m the sunshine in your hair
I’m the shadow on the ground
I’m the whisper in the wind
I’m your imaginary friend
And I know I’m in your prayers
Oh I’m already there

She got back on the phone
Said I really miss you darling
Don’t worry about the kids they’ll be alright
Wish I was in your arms
Lying right there beside you
But I know that I’ll be in your dreams tonight
And I’ll gently kiss your lips
Touch you with my fingertips
So turn out the light and close your eyes

I’m already there
Don’t make a sound
I’m the beat in your heart
I’m the moonlight shining down
I’m the whisper in the wind
And I’ll be there until the end
Can you feel the love that we share
Oh I’m already there

We may be a thousand miles apart
But I’ll be with you wherever you are

I’m already there
Take a look around
I’m the sunshine in your hair
I’m the shadow on the ground
I’m the whisper in the wind
And I’ll be there until the end
Can you feel the love that we share
Oh I’m already there
Oh I’m already

Monday happenings and quotes

The Waterkloof Air Force base (about a block or two from our house) has been a buzz this weekend… airplanes flying in and taking off. Last night was especially noisy, but I am not complaining. I love the sound of the jets and planes.

This week will be a hectic one for our country. Foreign dignitaries will be flying in to pay their respects, not to mention most South African citizens will be doing the same. I wanted to go to the Union Buildings on the weekend, to take some photos of everyone, but I never got to it as we were quite busy on the weekend. However, the tributes and interviews on TV has been really inspiring and yes, we have lost a great legend. But then, the shock came that Madiba was not the only person we lost this weekend. Baby Jake Matlala also passed away. Our thoughts go our to his family and friends too.

Yesterday at church, we had a moment of silence to remember the passing of Madiba. I see our website has a short article on as well:

Dear Brothers and Sisters

Hamba Kahle Tata Madiba!

As a regional church in Southern Africa, we embrace all our Brothers and Sisters and the citizens of our country in expressing our sincerest condolences at the passing of our much loved friend and former President, Nelson Mandela!

Our heartfelt condolences as a Christian organization are also extended to the Mandela family and to all who have been deeply touched by his life, as we have been.

Today, in the circle of our Administrative staff we shared a few moments in which we thanked our Heavenly Father for this wonderful man and great human being that had served our nation so well.

Our bible text was extracted from the New Testament verses in 1 Timothy 2: 1-4 “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.  For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

We will certainly continue to remember this loving soul that shall be entrusted into the Grace of the Almighty God!

Yours sincerely,
MP Mkhwanazi

Anyways, I see the You magazine has put up some of Madiba’s famous quotes on their website. I thought that I would share a few with you today (they are below).

Have a good Monday further.

I thought I’d share :)

Some funny pictures I found online and I thought I’d share them with you today. 🙂

Have a great weekend everyone.

This is me every morning.

If I could drink, this would sum my attitude up quite nicely. lol

I can see how that would work.

Sounds about right, what do you think Bibz?

That would explain why we have older siblings.

To my bff 🙂

I totally agree!

Uhm… no further comment!

LOL! I could never find the x either.

A rant and one of my favourite movies

Yes, you read right, Scarlet is ranting and raving…

To the woman in the red car on the highway this morning travelling more than 120km/h with your kid hanging his head out of the open window, not fastened with a seat belt….

YOU STUPID B***H!!! CAN’T YOU THINK FOR YOURSELF?? DON’T YOU KNOW HOW QUICKLY ACCIDENTS HAPPEN? WHAT WOULD HAPPEN TO YOUR KID IF YOU HAVE TO SLAM ON BREAKS FOR SOME OR OTHER REASON? I wonder what she would have done? Where would the kid have ended up? You don’t let the kid open the window while you are travelling at that speed on the highway, let alone let him hang out of it! URGH!

I don’t have kids, but my friends that do have them strapped in kiddie chairs. That is how it should be. As a parent you should make sure your kid is safe!

Rant over!

So, in other news, Notting Hill was on DSTV last night… *swoon* Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts… must admit, it is one of my favourites… even though I don’t have it in my DVD collection.

My favourite quote from the movie:

“For June who loved this garden from Joseph who always sat beside her.” Some people do spend their whole lives together.

And then, Notting Hill isn’t Notting Hill without one or two Spike Quotes…  so here goes:

“Just going to the kitchen to get some food, then I’m going to tell you a story that will make your balls shrink to the size of raisins.”

“ I knew a girl at school called Pandora. Never got to see her box, though.”

Anyways, at the end of the movie, a song plays and it’s called SHE.

I thought I’d share the lyrics with you today.

Elvis Costello

May be the face I can’t forget
The trace of pleasure or regret
May be my treasure or the price I have to pay

May be the song that summer sings
May be the chill that autumn brings
May be a hundred different things
Within the measure of a day

May be the beauty or the beast
May be the famine or the feast
May turn each day into a heaven or a hell

She may be the mirror of my dreams
The smile reflected in a stream
She may not be what she may seem
Inside her shell

Who always seems so happy in a crowd
Whose eyes can be so private and so proud
No one’s allowed to see them when they cry

May be the love that cannot hope to last
May come to me from shadows of the past
That I’ll remember till the day I die

May be the reason I survive
The why and wherefore I’m alive
The one I’ll care for through the rough and ready years

I’ll take her laughter and her tears
And make them all my souvenirs
For where she goes I’ve got to be
The meaning of my life is

She, oh she

So, that’s my rant and one of my favourite movies…
Have an awesome Thursday.
