My phone and I…

I have a BlackBerry, a phone on which I am always contactable. On my BB, I have BBM, Whatsapp, Facebook, Twitter, I have my WordPress app and I have five e-mail addresses linked to my phone. I have hundreds of photos, some of my favourite songs and some video clips – mostly of my Cutie Pie jumping on the trampoline – on it. I have my webpage always open to Google, so that I can search for things quickly.

In recent weeks I have noticed that I am not as attached to my phone as I used to be and that is a good thing, because it made me very unsociable. So, I have decided… my next phone will be a downgrade. I want a phone that I can talk on, one that I can send an sms on and… well, I think that is it. I don’t want any more features other than those two.

My friends can call me old fashioned if they want to.

My advertisers can be angry with me, but I will use my phone till December and no further.

I will not be upgrading to the latest smart phone, which is VERY expensive I might add.

I will not give into peer pressure because of the fact that my friends have upgraded to the latest smart phones out there, like the Samsung Galaxy, the iPhone, the Lumia and more.

I will be me, with my easy to use phone and if people would like to call me odd, they are welcome to. 🙂 But, I think I have had enough of cellphones and all the technology in them.

The invisible man

Can you see the invisible man??

  1. I’m feeling the same way. but I think I have to have FB and Whatsapp at least. I just want a phone that isn’t ridiculously expensive, who’s battery life won’t run out after an hour and that wont freeze every ten minutes. Oh, and not too mention the touch screen thing, annoying as hell! Is that too much to ask for? lol

    • I hate touch screens… my brother and nephew have the galaxy S4 and the touch screen drives me nuts. I would be completely OCD about the fingerprints on the screen all the time. Battery life is also a major factor on my new phone…

So glad to see I am not alone in my frustrations Ricari. 🙂

  2. Sometimes it’s highly annoying or distracting that you can do so much on your phone (like now when I should be studying) but I think in general a smart phone is really cool. Some apps are really helpful (think news or traffic updates) and I’ve subscribed to certain newsletters so it’s nice to be able to see breaking news alerts as soon as they are sent. Whatsapp and iMessage have made me more sociable because I hate phone calls so in the past you may have received a “hi, hope you doing well” sms but we wouldn’t really chat whereas now we would. The best though is that I’m able to blog with the WordPress app because if I didn’t have it, I’d be like the invisible man and you’d only see me about once every second weekend! 🙂

    • Asian, I am so glad to see that your smart phone has helped you… however, I do agree that it can be very annoying or distracting, especially at work, hence why my phone is in my bag most of the time. 🙂
